GALAXY GOLF CHARITY TOURNAMENT — Golf seems to be every professional athlete’s second-favorite sport. This might be why most sports teams have golf tournaments to support their charitable arms. In mid-September it will be the Los Angeles Galaxy’s turn, with the soccer squad hosting a charity tournament at the Coyote Hills Golf Course. More information can be found here ‘Day On the Links’. In addition, watch for tournaments for the Clippers and Angels later this year and the Dodgers and Lakers early in 2010.

The V Foundation — Autographs and the “ultra exclusive Big Air practice” aside, there are two great reasons to attend the Behind the Big Air benefit this Friday night: The view and the cause. The proceeds of this, the X Games opening night party, go to the STAPLES Center Foundation and the V Foundation for Cancer Research.
