SOCCER — When MLS teams square off against international competition in America, the goal for the U.S. teams is clear: Prove the squad’s mettle against more traditional soccer powers. When international teams come here for friendly games against MLS sides, the goal tends to be aimed more toward making money and selling jerseys. Nonetheless, some entertaining games have taken place between American and Eurpoean clubs, and Barcelona will look to add another game to that list on August 1st when the European champions take on the Los Angeles Galaxy at the Rose Bowl.
